Ohio: Radio host pledges 50,000 to march against murder at the hands of the police

Lima, Ohio: A radio talk-show host pledged Monday to organize 50,000 marchers from across the country to protest a fatal police shooting on the eve of an officer’s trial.

Warren Ballentine broadcast his show live from the city at the UAW Hall on Bellefontaine Avenue Monday, taking callers, including the Rev. Al Sharpton, who also promised to help organize a protest.

Sharpton promised the police shooting of Tarika Wilson would be a topic of discussion at his National Action Network conference this week in Memphis, Tenn., marking the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.

“That city will see numbers like it’s never seen before,” Sharpton said.
